Jennifer Brizuela I get you! I used to be incredibly active. Training every day for many years, carried on from childhood - that's all I did. As an adult every time I was stressed I would start running and not stop until I'd at least done half marathon. My legs aren't even built well for running. I used to be addicted to exercise and lost so much weight. It was a coping strategy really (didn't know it then). Then I plunged into doing nothing when I moved to an environment that didn't suit my previous active lifestyle (lots of snow and cold!) and my body started to fall apart from inactivity, as I fell into a depression, and I felt so lost. After finding RPS I've slowly rebuilt in a healthier way. Some days my addictive exercising comes back and I do class after class, wanting more and more! I recognise what I am doing and tell myself it's ok now and again to go crazy! I love following the weekly schedule because I think it really has been carefully crafted and I really do feel the benefits, it stops me going over the top! I treat the classes as more of a gentle exercise of the mind, being kind to myself has made me so much healthier ❤️‍🩹 we aren't actually made for doing SO much exercise. We are around the same age, and now my focus is on keeping my muscle mass up for my older years, and keeping some fat! It's beneficial for your hormones, so I have read! Hope this helps a bit.

Such a fun and creative class for opening the hips! My hips feel both stretched and worked out. I was a little worried about how heavy the weight would feel on the stretch but I challenged myself and took some short breaks where needed!

I was fighting with my obsessive thoughts just before this class and the band helped me at least try to resist and release them. I easily lock onto these thought patterns and can't seem to let go of them. I WILL resist and bring myself to a calmer state! This class felt so awkwardly satisfying, a calm in the storm.

So relaxing. Slowing things down and stretching at this pace is so healthy for the mind and body. Often when warming up the body and stretching its done so quickly and in a rough way. It's so nice to have the space to think in these movements and pay attention to the body. Thinking about relaxing the muscles as well as working them is also so beneficial. Thank you! My shoulders are so grateful for these moves!

Degage makes me think of the french meaning to "go away"! I also love the rond de jambe (the only ballet term I remember!), I feel nicely stretched out after PT 1 and PT 2. Craving some more ballet now!

I love your technique classes. Everything is explained in such a nice way, you really keep my focus. I wish the body was explained to me in this way when I was a child, while doing ballet/gymnastics, and for the teacher to be as gentle!

I was like what's a snack plant! Figure it's 🐍

I also really love this class. The music and flows take me somewhere happy! I really feel the self care in this one.

Second time doing this class! And like with Emily got the choreo down pat! I was hiking yesterday and can barely walk down the stairs so the side squat stretches were difficult! Love swinging a heavy weight! Feeling strong all over after this!
