Got through less rounds but felt better about them for the most part, like I could hone in on getting to failure! Did 3 rounds plus curls and presses of a 4th, upped my weights for overhead press to 15 lbs when I could but dropped to 10 in the 2nd round, and upped hip thrust to 30. I also took my time getting into position for hip thrust rather than rushing it and that plus upping the weight was really helpful to connect to the booty!

Not embarassing! Those moves are tough! I think my range and comfort on those curls would have been better if I went lower weight

Grateful for a short class today. I almost didn't make it, thinking about pushing it till tomorrow but 11 minutes made for a persuasive case. I'm proud I pushed through this time, that's a different muscle I'm building!

Those curls were tough and I really liked the split squats, used 15lbs for both. I definitely want to come back to this class!

I love this class so much. All of Ruth's classes are like snowflakes but this one in particular is so special, it just takes me away

Wooo got through 6 rounds - 1st 4 rounds at 15lbs, went to 10 lbs for round 5, but back to 15lbs to finish off round 6! I feel like I could go a little heavier but I don't know if I have the grip strength for it, my hands feel it.

Ooh you also mentioned you groan when thinking about working out in a structured way, so maybe it doesn't have to be so structured! Just doing some cat-cows, thread the needle, putting on some music to dance to, just finding something small that feels good to get you going is enough!

I feel you on stopping for a few days and then somehow my movement just drops off. I applaud your decade of consistent movement practice btw! I wish I had more advice, but I second what Mika said as well. I also seem to do well with self talk lol I literally talk to myself talking through why or what to do, and that seems to usually lead to me talking myself into some movement. But sometimes my "inner coach" tells me to stay on the couch too, and that's ok.

But reminding myself of how good I feel with movement, or how not-great without it, does help me get over the initial hurdle of the first few workouts. I also choose the really chill, feel good classes to start with, and then I find my body craving more strength and activity.
