This deep stretch was just what my body needed. It felt so juicy and deep. If I were stretching on my own, I probably wouldn’t have done these stretches and definitely wouldn’t have held them for as long, so I always love having Ruth as my stretching guide. Those final child’s poses with one leg out felt AMAZING!

The booty is burning. Did some nice spinal twists at the end and they felt so good. Feeling strong and accomplished! 💪🏻

I’ve really loved getting back to basics with the Hard + Soft Experience. I especially loved the arm movements in this class while lying on our back and “dotting the I” and plugging the shoulders back down. Always feels so good. And rolling like a ball always makes me happy.

Got lots of “glowstick” cracks in this class. It was like a warm bath for my hips, neck and shoulders. I feel like this would be a good 🌱 class too…

Here’s today’s walk photo. Another beautiful October day!

I love this class and forgot it was part of Hard + Soft. It’s one of my favorite go to classes when I’m short on time but want a good push for my body, in this case, my arms. I used 12lb handweights (used just one for triceps) but had my 5lbs next to me in case I needed to switch. However, I wanted to push myself to approach fatigue, and so even though I knew a lighter option was available, I pushed through all three sets with the 12lbs (though the number of reps I did per set went from 28 to 25 to 19/20). 💪🏻💪🏻

Love getting back to basics with series of 5. I kind of forgot about the tip Ruth gives at the beginning of this class to keep your chin tucked to avoid neck strain. It’s a game changer. This class is a good reminder that even after 10+ years of doing Pilates there’s always value in going back to the fundamentals.

I forgot that this class was part of Hard + Soft. I’ve gone back to it several times since the first time I did the exploration. It’s pretty much my go to class for when I don’t have much energy to move or when I’m sore or when I’m not in the mood for anything else. So it was such a delight to come back to it again today (especially since I’m still sore from Day 3!) This is one I’ll keep going back to when I have no motivation to do anything else. It always makes me feel so good and stretched out.

Decided to be intentional about doing a thirty minute walk today. In past RPS challenges/ programs I’d often check off the walk assuming that I’d walked for a good 30 minutes over the course of the day or I’d do a class instead, but I rarely set aside 30 minutes for a full walk. Today, I left my downtown LA office at 2pm and just kept walking in whatever direction had a walk sign on so I wouldn’t have to stop for thirty minutes. And I’m so glad I made a point of going outside because it was such a beautiful day. 75, sunny and clear skies. 🚶🏼‍♀️☀️🏙️
