I love how Ruth’s positive and abundant energy motivates me when I’m feeling like I can’t go on, especially when she reminds us that we are stronger than we think. 😊💪🏻

Today’s walk view. Another beautiful sunny nearly 80 degree day in downtown LA! (My condolences to everyone on the east coast and mid west right now.) I took a twenty minute walk to one of my favorite Brazilian coffee shops where the barista complemented my guns (aka my biceps.) #musclemamiwins

Oooo baby! The struggle was real in this one. I really liked the beginning warmup with the wall squats. This class will work your arms, legs, quads booty and abs in under 20 minutes. My heart is still pounding. I used 12lbs of my medium weights and a 30lb kettlebell for my heavy weight, and by those final rows, my arms were shaking like crazy (they still are.) I’ll have to go back to this class whenever I want my butt kicked haha

I used two 12 lb handweights for this class, but I wished I had two sets of something heavier for the deadlifts (I only have one 30lb kettlebell that I’m using for my heavy weight.) In the third set I challenged myself to lift my shoulders a bit off the back of the chair for the first part, which activated my abs to a whole other level. I might just end up investing in a set of 20 lb handweights so I can use them for future deadlifts, but the 12lbs were perfect for the rowing part. I did a few extra reps at the end until I was at fatigue. Loved that this class was only 11 minutes too!

Today’s walk views. January in LA is like fall on the east coast, at least when it comes to leaves changing colors and falling. I’m enjoying the sun and unseasonably warm (80 degree) weather we are having here! I just wish my allergies weren’t so bad or I would have been out for longer 🤧

So I accidentally did this class on the Sunday before the Muscle Mami challenge started. At the time, I was using the filters to find a class that was under 15 minutes that I hadn’t done before. As soon as it started, and I saw how pregnant Ruth was in the video and the lack of comments, I realized what had happened. But I still did the class anyway, figuring I could go back and do it again as part of the challenge.

The first time I did the class I used a 12 lb hand weight for the hamstring curls and two 12 lb hand weights (one in each hand) for the Bulgarian split squats. This time around, I kept the 12lb hand weight for the hamstring curls, but I switched it up and held one 30lb kettlebell in the same hand as the working leg for the split squats. Ooo baby did I feel the difference there! I was able to do around 20-25 reps the first set and about 15 the second time around.

This is definitely a class I’ll be going back to. It’s short and sweet but packs a punch!

Whenever Ruth says that it always makes me smile and motivates me to go harder. 😊

This class was somehow both chill and strenuous if that’s possible. I didn’t feel too bad with the moves lying on our back. I used two 5lb handweights for those. And I was feeling ok with the side body moves, where I used a 12lb handweights for the rows and 5lb for the others. But when I switched sides and my left arm had to work, DAMN, I was feeling it then. I was convinced that Ruth lost track of time or made us work longer on the second side because I was getting so fatigued at only the halfway mark, but I made it. For the pushups at the end, I started on my knees gripping my weights on the floor with my hands (which usually helps my wrists.) Then, when Ruth said, “you’re stronger than you think,” I decided she was right and I would try some full plank pushups. I made it through 5. Were they perfect, no? But it felt good to give myself a bit of an added challenge because she was right, I am stronger than I think! Immediately after this class I went and got my Covid and flu shots, so I’m 100% positive my arms (especially my left arm) will be sore tomorrow! 💪😅

Today’s walk views… We had a lovely 80 degree day in LA today and the sunset afterglow was so pretty, but photos don’t really do it justice.
