When Ruth was talking about the difference between how long the 5 second breaks felt and how long the final 5 seconds of moves felt, I felt that. 😂 I did the first round with 12lb hand weights and it nearly killed me, but I wanted to keep pushing myself. So for the second round, I used 12lbs for the legs and 12lb for the first set of arms and then 5lb for the triceps. I truly did not think I’d be able to make it through the 3rd round, but I did it in a sort of fugue state with a few extra seconds rest than what Ruth provided us. I probably did 25-30 reps of legs in the first set and 11-15 in my last. For the arms, I used my 5lb weights for both sets and took Ruth’s earlier recommendation to lie on my arm for the final set of triceps. At the end of class, when Ruth said to get in a comfortable position for our “thank you, body” hugs I collapsed onto my back sprawled out on my mat a heavy mess. When I said, “Thank you, body,” I really truly meant it. And this sweaty bad b probably stayed laying on my mat for a good 5 minutes with my eyes closed catching my breath. Classes like this really make me thankful for my body. 💕💪🏻🔥

I love going back to basics and practicing the fundamentals of core strength. Those toe dips are always a challenge no matter how many times I do them. Did a few full rolling like a balls at the end just for fun.

The gentle internal rotation moves in this class (especially that lifting of the back foot while keeping the spine straight) can feel awkward and even somewhat uncomfortable, but my hips and legs always feel so good after doing them! This class was the perfect cozy start to this exploration! Loved all the juicy spine and hip movements. Got lots of “glow stick” cracks in the first half of the class.

I’m Emily from Los Angeles, California. This will be my second time doing this exploration and I’m looking forward to it! Hard + Soft is perfect for this colder and cozy fall weather we’ve been having here.

I so love lying down deep abs and this class was perfect. I code feel how much my abs were working with my hand throughout the class, and just like Ruth I found myself “shaking like a leaf” a number of times. I also noticed that my quads and triceps were working quite a bit too. Have a feeling I’ll be sore tomorrow. That final happy baby at the end felt heavenly.

I am such a sweaty mess right now but I’m feeling strong and sexy AF. 🔥

I forgot how much fun the OG beat based class was. It’s been awhile since I did it and it was exactly what I needed. Perfect mix of feel good dancing, planking and ab work, a bit of booty and stretching.

This class is a great way to unwind after a long and stressful day. As Frances mentioned in her comment, I also did this class with my eyes closed most of the time and just zenned out in a flow state.

Me too! It works really well with your eyes closed.
